I found the Hotel very friendly.
I think that the room was lacking in the essentials i.e.;- No water bottles supplied. Had to drink water from the bathroom.2. No small bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The shower gel supplird was difficult to open without scissors.3. Television far too large for the room. 4. Would have liked full length mirror. 5. If I had been having a longer stay would have liked a wardrobe.
We had a wonderful 5 days at The Black Boy Inn. The staff were incredibly welcoming, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Topping up the teabags in the room: done within 10 minutes; putting a new bulb in the bathroom light: done when we returned to the room. Five star service!! Our room was immediately over the bar and overlooking the beer garden, so we did what any sensible couple would do (no, not drink ourselves to sleep): we put in ear plugs and slept like babies - it's an Inn for goodness sake, so noise is to be expected. Our room was spotlessly clean, spacious and well-equipped. Breakfast was huge, and the lunch/dinner menu was vast and very reasonable priced. Overall, we had a magnificent stay.
The hotel had been sensitively refurbished to a very high standard, and was very clean. The food was good value for the price, and the staff were helpful. We were only able to stay for one night but will definately return.
The staff were very friendly and helpfull. the bathroom was very nice but the room was not quite big enough for a four poster bed.
the black boy was excellant in both service and accomidation and i would definitely stay there again, perfect location for a good stay in north wales.
Small comfortable hotel with decent sized rooms where attention to detail was evident during your stay
The restaurant is busy and as a guest you have no ability to reserve a table which are allocated on a first come first served basis. As a late arrival you may not be able to get dinner in the hotel where you are a paying guest. I do not find this acceptable
The staff were very helpful, food excellent and generally all round a lovely place to stay
The history of the hotel was the most enjoyable. The quaint rooms and crooked, creaky hallways. Only stayed for one night but shall be back again.
The only comment I can make is that we were charged £2 to change from new potatoes to mashed potatoes with the roast chicken (not a great deal of money but on principle not a great move). There was, in fact, mashed potato on the menu so they did not have to go to any extra trouble to provide it. The menu, also, was not as exciting as it could have been - would've preferred more fish dishes considering the location.
Fantastic location for a short break. We stayed for an evening meal and recieved good pub food,...breakfast was amazing, quality products used and brought to our room by our request. (2 trips up several flights of narrow stairs by two brave staff with smiles on their faces...thankyou!) My bag was carried to the room by the manager and the hotel was immaculate characterful and rustic. fab weekend
The only thing i could comment on comfort wise was the bed was too hard. Service was fantastic except in the dining room where the waiting on staff lacked rapport with all their guests (weekend staff?) and the chef lacked flexibility on his menu, refusing to change rice for chips to the embarassment of the waiter who quoted this as company policy also sending out charred bread to another table of guests who begrudgingly chipped off the black topping before eating it. Finally a waitress was quick to remove our not empty plates without checking we had finished...Saying that we did enjoy our meal!
The staff were excellent and the suite we stayed in was roomy and comfortable.
The rooms and food were excellent; the staff extremly helpful.
Staff were very helpful. Food good. Car parking very concenient and a bonus being in town centre and free. Just about ticked all the boxes.
Access stairs were quite narrow and awkward for cases but it is an old building and was part of the charm.
Tha Hotel was very comfortable, and the staff more than pleased to help.Having its own car park was also very useful.
The Hotel staff made us very welcome on our arrival & during our short 3 night stay.Charming old fashioned style hotel with up todate conviences. Hotel easy to find & is in a very good location for local site seeing. Good safe & secure parking
Everything was at hand ,very cosy, very clean and all rooms were new and spotless.
Just a bit noisy at night. We had the room above the doorway which had tables and chairs outside for the smokers making it very rowdy did not get to sleep until about 1pm
